John Thiessen writes science fiction about memory, power, and the thin line between survival and control. His work blends cinematic realism with quiet philosophical pressure, building stories that feel lived-in, procedural, and human, even when the world is anything but.
He is the creator of The Codex Alignment, an ongoing multi-volume series that begins with The Seven Sigils (Book I) and continues with The Far Beacon (Book II). Set aboard the Citadel, a self-contained civilization orbiting a ruined Earth, the series follows the aftershocks of impossible choices, the politics of survival, and the strange pressures that emerge when something in the dark starts paying attention.
Thiessen’s writing often uses “found documents,” archival fragments, and mission logs to explore what people owe each other when the old world is gone, and what gets rewritten when the record won’t hold. He lives in Canada and is currently working on Book III of the series.
